Summary
The reporter shows the damage to a Delhi police van and a petrol pump near the Janpath Metro Station, where a protest was held. The cause of the damage is unclear, and there are reports of police throwing stones at protesters.
“This is right in front of the Janpath Metro Station gate number 3.”From the report
What you're seeing behind me is a Delhi police van that has been turned around and all the glasses, the window panes of this van have been shattered. You can see that these stones that you're seeing here, these big stones were possibly thrown and the glasses of this van were broken. I'm also going to take you around a little bit to show the extent of the damage. Now, we don't know who did this or we don't know who were the people behind this. But first, I'm going to show you the damage. All around you will see shattered glass pieces. Even here you will see shattered glass pieces. And you will see that the rear window of this car that has also been completely shattered if you see inside. So there are shattered glass pieces inside as well. And this is actually from a very prime location of the national capital. This is right in front of the Janpath Metro Station gate number 3. This is the main cannot place street. the Janpath Street is here and there you have McDonald's, Connaught Place and the outer and inner circle going on from there. There you have the Lee Meridian Hotel. So this gives you a sense of how prime this location is and at this location this kind of violence happened during this protest. Now there are also reports that the police also threw stones at some protesters. Now we don't know whether this violence was done by students who were a part of this protest or whether it was done by certain lumpen elements who came here with the intention of colouring this protest and with the intention of ruining the peaceful nature of this protest and making it violent. But let me tell you that this is not the only vehicle that has been damaged like this. Right across the road another Delhi police vehicle has been damaged in a similar fashion and a petrol pump that is right next to the Imperial Hotel right across the road, certain windows and glasses of that petrol pump have also been damaged.
