“The cockroaches reclaimed the Jantar Mantar.”From the report
Hundreds of students are still present on one of the main roads leading to Jantar Mantar. This is not the designated protest site inside Jantar Mantar. This is the main road outside the designated protest site. That's the SBI building there. It's a landmark road. It's a key road. And hundreds of students are still occupying this road leading up to Jantar Mantar. And now the slogans that are being raised here are not just demanding education Minister Dharmesh Pradhan's resignation but also talking about the police brutality that took place yesterday. Today morning, my brothers were beaten up. I came here in their anger. So you didn't come before but when you saw yesterday, you came. I came after seeing my brothers, my students. I came after seeing them. You didn't come before that? I didn't come before that. So that I think is a very important kind of a turning point for the protest that the police brutality that took place yesterday, There was lathi charge that took place, tear gas shells were fired. That has become a kind of a force multiplier for all these students protesting here. They have now gathered on this main road and inside of course the entire Jantar Mantar is jam-packed. After the police brutality took place, the students, the cockroaches reclaimed the Jantar Mantar. Let me show you this road. These are all protesters who are either going back home after spending the entire day here or coming to Jantar Mantar. But look at this main road. And in fact, they've also managed to kind of remove some of the barricades there. Hundreds of people have gathered here and they're continuing their sloganeering, even as the police unleashed brute force on those students who were peacefully marching towards the parliament.
