“This tells you how that police brutality on students yesterday has actually led to further growth of this student protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party.”From the report
It's past midnight, a day after the Cockroach Janta Party's Sansad Chalo march and the police brutality on protesters. And you won't believe the kind of crowd that's still here at Jantar Mantan. Thousands of people are in this crowd right now, even past midnight. I'm standing here on the sides because it is impossible to walk in that crowd. It's also difficult to breathe in that crowd. It's very hot as well. But this tells you how that police brutality on students yesterday has actually led to further growth of this student protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party. We met several of these students, several of these people. They're people from across age groups. There are also kids in this crowd. And they say they have come here after seeing that police brutality. Let me show you around a little bit. That's the stage. And of course, the CGP leaders are there and they are leading this crowd. And behind the stage also, you'll see that there are people sitting on barricades. Because the Janatar Mantar is fully packed, there's no space here. That's why now people are sitting on these fences and on these barricades. And even that's not enough. We were outside and there are people outside these barricades also. And even on this side, this road leads to the Kanaat place. And even on this road, outside the designated protest site, on the main road, there are people there as well near Karot Place. So that created a bit of a security concern as well because people were on the road and they were sloganeering and there were police forces. But nothing happened. There was no violence from either side. The protest has been peaceful. But this shows you how that police brutality has actually promoted more people to come here and join this protest.
