Summary
Sonam Wangchuk's wife claims he was taken to Safdarjung Hospital without consent, and that the police are staging a drama to justify his hospitalization.
“It is a part of their rule book. They would do it.”From the report
A lot of people are also questioning whether he was actually forcefully taken or was there a need to take him to the hospital due to medical concerns. I don't know whether he was forcefully taken because I was not present on the site. But he was taken without mine or his or any doctor's or family members or friends' consent. What did he say when you spoke to him? That they just came in this thing and they took him without any explanation and anything. And even the way it is, you know, what is the need of police if it was a health issue? why so much police there and they are not letting me take my phone to when I go to meet him so these need not be done it is like he was jokingly saying there is no Safdarjang hospital it's Safdarjang prison. How they took him also covering him with white sheets there was rapid action force there were Delhi police officials in civil dress there were also some in uniform and he's 59 years old he's been on a hunger strike for 20 days he was too weak to even confront one person and there were all these forces so when you saw those visuals what did you feel? I know that all this is staged. It is a part of their rule book. They would do it. We were expecting that they would do it. They would at some point because the high court order clearly said that he has only to be monitored. It never said that you could hospitalize him. They are saying in pursuant of the high court order but there was no high court order which said that you could hospitalize him.
