It's day 18 of Mr. Sonam Vamchuk's hunger strike. He's right here. You can see that he's very weak right now. He's lost more than 8 kilograms of weight. Abhijit Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party is with me. Abhijit, there are now growing calls asking Mr. Vamchuk to end his hunger strike. He doesn't have the energy to talk to us. Can you tell us whether you've asked him to end his hunger strike? What does he say? I have been trying to ask him the same thing for the last three days. but he's saying that instead of asking me to end the hunger strike ask the government why they are not ready to listen and i've been telling that sir we are really worried about your health and many people are reaching out to us to request him to end the hunger strike but he's saying just ask the government what why they are not ready to listen i don't know why the government is being so dispassive and so i would say insensitive he's been on hunger strike for last 18 days he has lost more than 8.5 kg weight and he has also started to lose muscle mass which is very concerning and despite of that despite knowing everything because the government is surveilling this entire area and despite of knowing everything the government is not even ready to take a note of his health or even ready to have a dialogue he's getting upset over all the appeals being made to him to end the hunger strike why is that so he just says that why are you asking me to concede i'm not demanding anything wrong i am demanding accountability how is that wrong If I end my hunger strike that means that accountability is not needed. If I end my hunger strike that means the 20 children who had to commit suicide, that is their life was not important. And whenever somebody is asking him to go backtrack on that, that is when he is getting really angry and he is saying don't ask me this. And it is his values and it is his principles that he wants to stick to.
