“Uske saath aane wale logon ke liye abhi bhi kuch log aaye hain.”From the report
For the last eight days, a 59-year-old man has been on a hunger strike in the heart of the national capital. That 59-year-old man happens to be one of the most renowned innovators and educators of our country. That 59-year-old man happens to be Mr. Sonam Vangchuk, who you can see right behind me on the eighth day of his hunger strike, demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over the examination failures this year, because of which more than 20 students have died. This Cockroach Janta Party protest has been going on for the last 16 days and this hunger strike has been going on for the last eight days. It's almost midnight now and there are still people who are coming here but still a large section of our country's mainstream media, TV media seems to be ignoring this protest and even the government is not saying anything on this protest officially. Now, we tried to speak to Mr. Wangchuk as well, but we've been told that his health is not in a good condition. That is why he's preserving energy. He's not talking a lot. We've also been told that he has lost around 4 to 5 kgs of weight over the last 8 days of his hunger strike. So at this age, Mr. Sonam Wangchuk's health is deteriorating. His health is being put at risk. He needs help to walk now. He's not talking a lot now. There has been no response from the government. There has not even been any conversation with him or with these protesters.
