Summary
The protest at Jantar Mantar is spreading beyond the premises, and incidents of stone pelting and attacks on security personnel have been reported. The speaker appeals to peaceful protesters to be aware of anti-social elements infiltrating their protests and to report such incidents to the police.
“These are anti-social elements who have infiltrated our protest to derail them.”From the report
Saurav, we are also seeing that the protest is spreading beyond Jantar Mantar because Jantar Mantar is fully packed. And yesterday we were there and we saw incidents of stone pelting. How do you control such incidents? Because even if they are goons, they will be seen as a part of the protest because it's this large crowd of the protesters. See, any form of violence, be it in our protest or be it in any other protest organized by the youth of this country on this particular issue, they cannot be tolerated. People who are doing this are not CJP protesters. are not our people. These are anti-social elements who have infiltrated our protest to derail them. This is the exact script that was followed during the C.A.N.R.C. protest because of which the Delhi riots took place. This is the same script during Punjab, the farmers protest. Suddenly there's a vehicle with stones in it, you know, bags of stones in it, placed very close to where the protest is happening. This happened with us on 19th night. We pointed it out to the police immediately. They didn't act at night. The police has to answer where those stones are coming from. These are very high security zones. There are not that many stones at all. So where are those stones coming from? The police has to answer this. They want to create a situation here, but we, through your medium, also appeal to peaceful protesters, to CJP supporters, to the rational, educated youth. They should be alert about such people. As soon as you see people doing this, make their videos, tag them, point this out to the police, tell them to go catch such people. I've, of course, been here for the last one month. Jantar Mantar has been entirely peaceful. It's only now that it has spread outside is where we are seeing these incidents. So is there anything that you guys will try to do to perhaps contain the protest inside Jantar Mantar so it's more under your control? Jantar Mantar is jam-packed. There are people who want to do these protests all over the country. We cannot take responsibility for protests that are happening everywhere around the country, everywhere around Delhi. However, what we can do and what is in our scope of things is to appeal to them to be peaceful. We can only do that appeal. If the appeal is not enough and we see more of these incidents then? The police should control it. The police can crack open peaceful protesters' head. They can't control these anti-social elements. Those pelting stones should be acted against. There's never been a doubt from our side. to target peaceful protesters is a complete no-no. The Delhi Police, through your channel, I do want to tell them, please be very careful on how you handle young people.
