The Accountability Has to Lie With Amit Shah | Neha Bora to Karan Thapar

This is a criminal state in action, a state that considers its own citizens and the lives of its own citizens dispensable. These were common students. They were students of Delhi University. They were students of Ambedkar University. We have met several of them. We have met their family members. They were not miscreants. They were not antisocial elements. They were simple students who are pursuing their education in Delhi University and Ambedkar University. They were shot with pellet guns and this is completely unacceptable. And for this, the accountability will lie with the Commissioner of Police. The accountability has to lie with Amit Shah. Amit Shah is the last man who is responsible for what the RAS does, what the Delhi police does, what the security personnel do here, what happened during the protest. It was Amit Shah's decision. We do not believe that it happened without Amit Shah's approval, that the commission of police was changed overnight. We do not believe that it happened without the approval of Amit Shah, that Sonam Rangchuk was picked up. The next morning, the day the commission of police changed the next morning Sonam Rangchuk was picked up We do not believe that it can happen without the consent and approval of Amit Shah that such large violence and state crackdown takes place on the 20th of July the day of the Sunset March. Amit Shah has to be held responsible for what happened. He has to be held responsible for the fact that the student upon whom the pellet gun was fired will never be able to see out of one of his eyes he has to be held responsible for the fact that one of the students of ambedkar university continues to have pellets inside his body they have still not been completely removed from his body amit shah and the commissioner of police anurag kumar has to be held accountable for the fact that a woman, a female protester from Uttam Nagar is on a ventilator right now, that she is in a very critical condition. Amit Shah has to be held responsible, Anurag Kumar has to be held responsible. Anything less than the accountability of these two people is not enough. The sacking of low-level security personnel is enough. The accountability of no low-level personnel who has fired the pellet guns is enough. The firing of pellet guns has to be the sole responsibility of the Home Minister, Amit Shah, and the Commissioner of Police, Anurag Kumar.
