These visuals will shock you. I'm reporting from one of the most economically underdeveloped regions of the country. And here in Bundelkhand, you can see all these tribal men and women protesting against the government's first river interlinking project. They say that this project has disrupted their lives, their livelihoods, their homes. And look at the kind of protests that these people are staging here. They are tying these symbolic nooses around their necks, saying that they are willing to die but they want justice. This is a Ken river where I am standing and this river is being linked to the Betwa river and the idea of the government was to link the two rivers in a way that the surplus water from one river reaches another. They say that this is going to be a game changer for Bundelkhand which also happens to be one of the most water scarce regions. Look at this person here. He has tied this snooze around his neck.
